Memorial Day Weekend

Finally the 3 day weekend has arrived!  Friday was quite chilly after we had the 80's just a few days before

But it was nice to have all the windows open again!

Sam's Mr Yuk stickers finally arrived in the mail!

And he quickly went to work putting them on my cleaners!

On Saturday I headed to Leonardtown for my BFF's bridal shower!

These girls below I have known my whole life - love them!  We are like sisters and no matter how long its been since we have seen each other we easily fall into conversation.

Tami and I on the bar!  woo-hoo!

Me and mom

On  the ride home I couldnt resist stopping at Stoney's over on Solomons to grab a crab cake and old bay fries - it was soooo good!!!

ALL crab meat - no fillers! YUM!

Sunday Sam and I went to run some errands at Target and Giant.
Mark and Hannah and the big boys went to lunch.

Mark sent me this pic:

So I sent him this one:

Then Mark sent this one:

And I sent him this one:

Hannah was eating corn and Sam was shucking it!  haha

Monday was beautiful and we spent it here in the backyard

Sam wanted to do an experiment so we tried "crushing flowers"  except I didnt have any flowers so we used  leaves from a plant

It didnt turn out!
Then I remembered I had a hanging flower basket!

And they turned out pretty cool!

And that was our weekend - hope yours was great too!

Talking in letters

Now that Sam is learning how to read and write he thinks its hilarious to talk in letters instead of words.  Here are some examples:

Me: Do you want milk or water?
Sam: W.
--------------
Me:  Sam do you want a waffle or cereal.
Sam: C.
------------
Sam: Mommy I forgot U.
Me: U?
Sam: Yep. U.
Me: Underwear????
Sam:  yep.
*this was on the way to school!

----------------------
Me:  Sam do you want a snack?
Sam: Y
Me: What do you want?
Sam: A
Me: Apple?
Sam: Y

I have gotten good at deciphering what he means - Mark however is totally confused!!

What the???

I woke up at 3am to pee and saw this pile on the floor in the office area - At first I thought maybe Mark had put some dirty laundry there then I looked closer

I put him back in bed and he was soaked!  Our room is about 80 degrees and he had wrapped himself in a blanket!
In the morning I showed him the pic and told him "Look what I found in my room!"  He just smiled and said he "snuck in quietly"

Spring Fever

Literally.

I picked up Hannah from school today with a fever.  Man, I thought we were done with the ickies!
She wouldnt eat much but she did enjoy a few popsicles

I had work to do so I put her in the play room and went in the kitchen.  I went to check on her and found this:

She smiled and said "Mess"!  Uh, yeah, big mess!  I had JUST cleaned in there too - ugh!!!!

When she was done every.single.bin was emptied.....

Later when Sam got home the kids wanted to play with shaving cream - we only do this on bath nights - you can see why below!
This time I added some paint to it - fun times!

Finally - she walks!

Hannah started at Malvern last May and every single day I have to carry her to her classroom and boy its getting old.  If I dont carry her she stands there and cries - ugh!  I had to figure out a way to get her to walk on her own!
I had bought the kids these lunch bags way back when and decided to pull them out and use them.  Well, Hannah was in love!  She thought it was so cool to carry her own bag.  We got to school and I got her out of the car and she grabbed her lunch bag and proudly walked in to school all by herself =)

Wasted Trip

I found a quilt at Pottery Barn Kids that will be perfect for Hannah's room when she eventually moves to a big bed.  I called the store to verify it was on sale there too and she said yes!  Shipping would be $17 - ouch!  so it would be worth the drive!
Hannah was in heaven!  I could have done an entire photo shoot of her in that store but I didnt want to be the creepy mama so I took 2 =)

I couldnt find the quilt so I asked and was told that quilt was available online only - What??  She she the girl must have been confused - yeah, apparently.
So it was a wasted trip for me but Hannah enjoyed herself!

Not Great, Not Good, Just OK

So, Sam has decided that every day should be Mother's Day and has been  making me a card every morning.  This was yesterday's card.

Apparently Jack and Adrian (from school) are now a part of our family - haha!

Then I noticed the "ok"  by Hannah's name

Me:  What's this by Hannah's name?
Sam: OK
Me: What does that mean?
Sam: It means we have an OK family

My next adventure

I have always wanted to sew and now more than ever with all the blogs out there showing cute and easy things.  So when we got our tax return I headed out and got a sewing machine!!!!

I was going to start with bean bags - since they would be easy but then I decided I REALLY wanted to make a skirt for Hannah!  I found a tutorial for a 20 min skirt and it only took me THREE DAYS!!!  hahahaha

Whatever....

In the end it turned out pretty stinkin cute and Hannah loved it!

Now, what should I make next??

Happy Mothers Day!

Mark took the kids and left the house at 630am so I could sleep in  - of course since that happened I woke up with an awful headache and crawled out of bed at 645 to get some meds and coffee - so much for sleeping in!  I sat on the couch feeling awful - my stomach hurt and I felt like I was going to throw-up....not how I envisioned Mothers Day!  Mark and the kids got home at 730 and brought Dunkin Donuts coffee and donut holes - I had Mark bring me some saltines =(

It wasn't until 10 am that I started to feel a little bit better!

I told Sam that he had to be extra nice to me all day since it was Mothers Day.  So every 10 mins he would ask me "Mommy, am I being nice to you?"

My MIL sent a package and inside Sam found some duct tape (he LOVES duct tape) and some drawstring bags - as he pulled them out he exclaimed "This is the BEST Mothers Day ever"!!!!  eheh.

The kids made their annual stepping stone for the garden - Sam wanted to do his foot again this year and we did Hannah's hands

Me: How does my butt look in these pants?
Sam: Its little just like Hannah's
Me: Now that is the best Mothers Day gift ever!

and Mark even added Piper's paw print this year ♥

Sam's art work - he learned how to make hearts - so sweet!

Sam and Mommy

Me: Whats that a picture of?
Sam: Its a magic rock!
Me:  Cool  -what does it do?
Sam: It makes a hundred million  mommies, just like you!
Me: Well that is the best rock ever then!!
