Stinker!

When I was trying to get some pictures of his "clothes for the week" he ran in front of the camera and thought he was hilarious!!!  He asked to see the picture,  laughed some more then requested more pictures - haha

Self dressing

As Sam approches his 4th birthday I am trying to get him to start doing more things on his own - one being getting dressed. Sure he "can" do it but usually says "I cant do it" in a whiny voice - the mornings are rushed so its easier for me to just dress him myself.

I have this empty space on Sam's bedroom wall so I thought it would be a good place to set up his clothes for the week - I bought some wood plaques at Micheals along with the letters for the days of the week - and then attached a hook under them to hold his clothes.
It turned out perfect and now Sam and I pick out all his clothes for the week on Sunday night  - we started this last week and so far no joy but thats ok - having all his clothes picked out is half the battle.  I will keep reminding him and hopefully in the next few months he will surprise me and come downstairs dressed for the day =)

GAK!

I found a great project online last week on how to make homemade gak - you know the stuff that looks like slime but its not gooey.... does that even make sense??

Anyway I KNEW this would be a hit with Sam - so once Hannah was down for her nap we pulled out the ingredients - glue, water, food coloring and borax - yep thats it!

He loved this stuff - played with it for HOURS!!!  I think we will def be making this at Sam's 4th birthday party

Butterfly Festival

The Market at Del Val held a pretty cool event today - Butterfly Festival!  They had out a bunch of plants that butterflies like and a speaker who raises butterflies (cant remember his name).  Plus lots of things for the kids to do!

Tractor rides

Homemade ice cream!

Painting a butterfly pot

Bouncy slide

We learned some pretty cool things about butterflies

They also had a butterfly release - I got one for Sam - the butterfly was in the envelope - they can live like this for 4 days - wow!

The picture below you can see the outline of the butterfly in the envelope

Envelope is about to be opened!

Sam opening the envelope - click to make it bigger so you can see it

And they all flew away......and Sam cried..... I guess he thought he got to keep the butterfly....

Since we were at a nursery a lot of the butterflies hung around so Sam and I went looking for one....and found one

Then he let it go in the bush

But before we left he wanted to get one more.... he walked up to a butterfly bush where one was sitting and just picked it right up!  He was so excited!

What a fun time we had!

Self Feeding

Some days Hannah will not let you feed her - she wants to do it herself - today was one of those days.  So, I put a straw in her applesauce thinking she would just drink it.... I turned around to do something and when I turned back I saw this

oh wait - you need a closer view?

I guess she dumped it - not really sure - LOL

Oh well.... its a bath night anyway ☺

Happy Fathers Day

Sam drew his daddy
I should start by saying today was not the best fathers day on the record. I woke up with a horrible headache and was laying down with an ice pack most of the day - Hannah started with a low grade fever Saturday but woke up with a 102 fever....so no relaxing for Mark -he had kid duty!

Funny thing was I "set-up" for Fathers Day on Saturday night so I didnt have anything to do anyway -

I took Sam to Target and he picked out a gift for Mark - flashlights!  He picked the 4 pack so he could have some too - haha - he wrapped it all by himself and unwrapped it =)

We also stopped and picked out some balloons...again, they were really for Sam, not daddy!  =)

I made some "bacon and chocolate" roses - hahaha

Chocolate banana nut muffins - yum!  Oh and I must add I made these from scratch AND I sifted the dry ingredients....yep, me, I sifted flour - wow, I must really love my hubby!

Also like last year I had Sam fill out a questionaire about his daddy:

My daddy is 4 yrs old.
He is 40ft tall and weighs a big hundred pounds!
My dad works in New Jersery.
His favorite Food is steak and bacon and he loves to pay money and go to work.
My favorite thing to do with daddy is eat chocolate at his new big work.
I have the best daddy in the world because he likes to play with me and Hannah.

Love, Sam V.

....there are 2 Sam's in his class so all of his papers say Sam V. - so Sam told me to sign his name Sam V (dot) - haha
