Life with a toddler

Who says goggles are just for the pool - Sam wore them while watching TV,
to the grocery store and in the bath tub!

Update on us

Sorry I have been MIA the past few weeks - life has been hectic! Hannah was running high fevers for 4 days and then she got better and then a week later she was sick again! Not sure what was going on but I was just trying to keep the rest of us healthy!  Since my MIL moved out we have been trying to get the guest room put together which meant moving some boxes into the attic.... well Mark over stepped and BAM!
What a mess!  Now we have something else on our to-do list!
We also made a quick trip tp IKEA and bought some new storage for the playroom - I took a picture of the contents so the kids could see what was inside and I wrote the words on them so Sam can practice letter recognition.

July4th was in the middle of the week so we stayed home this year and spent most of the morning in the creek - look how deep it is!
There are tons of fish in there - Sam likes to catch them =)

And we had a visitor who also likes the fish
Hannah didnt care for the creek but loved just being outside!

I made some red white and blue rice krispy treats for Sam's class - they were a huge hit!

Then there is the whole bangs or no bangs???  I dont want Hannah to have bangs but her hair drives me batty!  Look at it!
Of course she pulls out her barrettes and hands them to you, like "Oh here, I think you accidently left this in my hair"
Speaking of Hannah the terrible's 2 have started..... oh didnt you know? They start at 16 months....for Hannah anyway....

Today was a lazy morning of watching cartoons and eating oatmeal - the kids were in super silly moods!

In other news Mark and I have been doing the 17 day diet - its actually three 17 day cycles - we just finished the first one and I lost 3lbs and Mark lost 11lbs!  I have 3 more lbs to lose and Mark has 10 more - so hopefully that will happen over the next 2 cycles. Its been pretty hard for me - the first 17 days all you can eat is poultry or fish, fruit and veggies, and yogurt and eggs.  I prefer hamburger and steaks and pasta - LOL!  I did notice the grocery bill went way down since I am not buying all that snack food we usually eat so that has been an extra bonus!
Here was my latest convo with Sam
Sam's mohawk

Sam: Mommy, am I almost 4?
Me: Yep!
Sam: And then I will be 5?
Me: Yep!
Sam: And then I will be 6?
Me: Yep! You need to stop growing so fast!
Sam: But mommy I have to grow up
Me:  sigh.... yeah I know bud!
Sam: I am gonna be as big as you and daddy!
Me: Are you gonna get married?
Sam: Married to who?
Me: Oh I dont know, some girl
Sam: No, I'm just gonna grow up, thats all.
