Potty Trained!

As I mentioned before this whole Potty Training thing has been sooo easy - I am still just like really?!?  EVERYONE told me the pee part is easy its the pooping that will take some time...but once again no issues there either - awesome!!!
Anyway I have been dying to snap a picture of Sam in his undies and I finally got one -LOL - He looks like such a BIG boy!!!

We also ventured out in public for the first time since he has been in underwear - Mark took him car shopping with his mom and out to lunch - he did great!
Then I took him to Target and Kohls - once again he did great - peed at both places =)

Way to go Sammy!!!

He wants to wear underwear to bed but I told him we need to train his brain to not pee while he sleeps - when he wakes in the morning his diapers are soaked and he always tells me "Mommy I peed in my crib"  I tell him he peed in the diaper and thats ok - then he asks for underwear =)

Potty Training

I have always been in the camp of waiting for your child to be ready to Potty Train rather than push it on them – granted I would have loved for Sam to be Potty Trained at 2 but obviously that wasn’t in the cards! Then with the baby coming everyone told me to wait otherwise he may regress once the baby arrives…so I sat back and waited for Sam to be ready. So here we are at 2yrs 9 months. Sam’s teacher was the one who told me he is ready. He sees the other kids in his class wearing underwear and he told her that he wanted to wear Buzz Lightyear underwear! She told me that if I was up to it to bring in several pairs of underwear and shorts and we could try on Monday. So this past weekend Sam and I headed out to buy underwear (he picked out Buzz, Thomas, and Cars) and I grabbed 4 pairs of slip on shorts – we are ready!

Day 1 - Monday June 20th

He wouldn’t put on underwear at home so I sent him to school in a diaper and he gladly put them on for Miss Megan – I swear he likes her more than he likes me! Lol

He went all day with no accidents – he did wear a diaper at naptime though. He told Miss Megan when he had to pee and he even told her when he had to poop! I picked him up at 4pm and they were outside playing – we went in to get his stuff and I turned around and he looked sad – I asked him what was wrong and he said “I peed mommy” I look down and there is a puddle. I told him it was ok and we changed him – but he refused to put on underwear – said he wanted a diaper – he didn’t like underwear. So, I put him in a diaper – again, I am trying to let Sam take the lead on this whole Potty Training thing!

So, day 1 had 1 accident – not bad at all!!!

Day 2 - Tuesday June 21st

Once again he wouldn’t put on underwear at home so I put him in a diaper and once again he put them on for Miss Megan – yes, he does like her more than me – hahaha. Today he peed and pooped in the potty - way to go Sammy!!! I checked his daily and see that he is going a lot so as soon as I bring him in I say “lets go potty” and he goes! Yes! We get home and he continues to tell me when he needs to pee and poop!

This was his schedule today :

8:40am pee

9:10am pee and poop

10:30am pee

12pm pee

3pm pee

4:15pm pee

5:20pm pee and poop

6:30pm pee

Then a diaper for bedtime

Day 2 – no accidents! Yes!

Day 3 - Wednesday June 22nd

I wake him up and say lets go potty! He says no! So we go downstairs – he sees his underwear by his clothes –

Sam: I don’t like underwear!

Me: Why not? You do great in big boy underwear!

Sam: No! I want a diaper!

Me: Ok go get me a diaper then.

(he doesn’t move)

Me: Hey, if you put on underwear you can have a marshmallow (yes I bribe my kid)

Sam: Can I have a diaper marshmallow? (being silly)

Me: no silly! You get a marshmallow if you wear underwear!

(he brings me a diaper and I take off his nighttime diaper)

Sam: I have to pee mommy!

Me: Ok lets go!

(Sam pees in the potty – then we go back in the living room and he hands me the underwear!!! Yay!)

Sam: I want a marshmallow!

Me: You got it buddy!

(he gets his marshmallow and Mommy and Sammy are both happy =))

He peed and poop in the potty today at school and at home

Day 3 - no accidents! woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is soooo easy.....  The funny part is there wasnt any "training" involved - we put him in underwear and he did the rest - how great is that!  So glad I waited for him to be ready =)

So proud of you Sam!

How did you get up there???

Last night Sam decides he wants some cereal – so I tell him he can go get it – then he says he needs a plate – I say ok go get one…. Now I am in the living room and I assume he is going to get a plastic plate from HIS drawer… then I hear dishes clanging and I figure I better go see what’s going on, because it sounds like he is getting down a DINNER plate….. but he cant reach that high……..

Oh wait, I guess he can …… oy!

Happy Fathers Day!

Last week Mark attended a Donuts with Dad snack at Sam's school.  I couldnt find a fathers day shirt for him like last year so we went to Target and he picked out a shirt - it was orange with Pluto on it - he now asks to wear this shirt every.single.day.

daddy and sam making "fish faces"

Sam decided he didnt want anymore pics but this one shows off the tie he made for his daddy =)

I had Sam wrap Mark's gift this year - he actually did a really good job!!!

We decided we didnt want him wearing his dollar store sunglasses anymore and got him some nice new oakleys!

I had Sam fill out this fun questionaire all about his daddy

I found this printable on the web and it was screaming "Mark quote"  hahaha

Zac's High School Graduation

Congrats Zac - the high school graduate!!!!!

It was a great day for the outdoor ceremony - it looked like rain but it just stayed cloudy and it was a nice 78 degrees.

Sam thought the party was for him  - lol

Zac had enough of his dad's toast - haha

And then she rolled!

Hannah has been rolling to her side for a few weeks now so I knew she would roll anyday and that day has arrived!  Sam and I were in the playroom and she rolled right on to her tummy! Then she did again and again and again!!!  I guess she likes to roll =)  Sam didnt roll till 4 months so she has him beat by 2 weeks!  lol

The Nonni Monster Strikes again

Sam was still using a pacifier at nightime - I didnt have the guts to take it away just yet - hahah - then.....

In preparation of moving Sam to his full size bed this fall I removed the bumper from his crib – not sure how that will help the transition but in my mind it will – haha). Anyway, I guess sometime in the middle of the night his nonni fell between the slats. I went in to get him

Sam: Where’d my nonni go mommy?

Me: Hmmm… I don’t know (I look for it under and around the crib)

Sam: The Nonni Monster took it!

Me: Oh! I bet he did!

Sam: Is he gonna eat my blanket?

Me: Nope! He only eats Nonnies

Sam: Is he gonna eat my pillow pet? (he started to sleep with his pillow pet 2 days ago)

Me: Nope he doesn’t eat pillow pets

Sam: Just nonnies!

Me: Yep, just nonnies

So last night I put him to bed

Sam: I want my nonni

Me: Sam, it’s gone, remember the Nonni Monster took it

Sam: Can I have Hannah’s nonni?

Me: No silly! You’re too big for nonnies anyway

Sam: Is he gonna eat my blanket?

Me: Nope! He only eats Nonnies

Sam: Is he gonna eat my pillow pet?

Me: Nope he doesn’t eat pillow pets

Sam: Just nonnies!

Me: Yep, just nonnies

- Yes that is the EXACT same convo we had the previous morning – lol -

And he went to sleep…. Without a nonni….. yay!

Just like Daddy

I am not potty training Sam but I am encouraging him to try to use the potty - last night he decided he wanted to pee like daddy - standing up!  He did a great job and all the pee made it in the toilet - way to go Bud!
He got a piece of chocolate for that one!

Hannah's first laugh

Hannah has been doing this half laugh but I wanted a nice good belly laugh to record as her first laugh and last night we got it!  So, what made her laugh?  Sammy of course!  Sam was taking a bath in his nice blue water (Thanks Mis for getting Sam started on those fizzies, he wont bathe w/o them now! haha) and he was "swimming" and apparently it was pretty funny cuz Hannah threw her little head back and let out not one but THREE good belly laughs - it was so awesome!

Things I never thought I would say

Get the chocolate away from your penis

No, you cant nurse your sister

Yes, Piper has a vagina

Shit!

Literally.....  today Hannah pooped on me.... cant say Sam ever did that - pee?  yes.  Poop?  no.

I was all ready for work, Sam was ready for school and before I left I went to change Hannah's diaper - as I lifted her legs up she decides its a great time to poop and it squirts out all over my shirt, pants, arms and the couch!

Lovely.....

Love my kiddos!

Off to Joplin

A girl I work with has family down in Joplin where that horrific tornado went thru - the pictures she showed me brought tears to my eyes - entire neighborhoods just wiped out - I CANNOT imagine being there and having that happen to me - So this girl has decided to send some supplies down to help those in need and I wanted to do what I could.  I scoured my "freebie friday" (Yes I still do that even though I dont post them) closet and got lotion, shaving cream, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel, etc and boxed it up.  I also gathered kids items - baby blankets, bath towels, washcloths, and clothes and gave them to my friend as well.  She said this would be great since most donations are for the adults and the kids need stuff too!  I know its not much but I am glad to help in anyway I can. My heart and prayers go out to all those in who lost their homes and family members..... today I feel extra blessed to have a roof over my head, food in my pantry, and my family by my side. God Bless!
