Poof!

So every post should start with a story right?..... so, back in February Mark and I were at a Superbowl party and mom is watching Sam -he is having a ROUGH night - mom calls me and tells me he is screaming and not happy - then she says "I think he is teething" - I thought, No way! He is only 4 months old.....Then Sam starts daycare and one day Miss Kiera says I can see his teeth - I was like what??? he has teeth??? I looked in his mouth to find 2 white spots on the bottom - what kind of mother doesnt know her child is getting teeth.... =( So, since then I do a daily teeth check - haha - wouldnt you know it, about a week later his 2 bottom teeth have emerged! Mom was right - he was teething!!! At 7 months he had another bad teething spell - must have been on Motrin everyday for 2 weeks! I keep checking his mouth and guess what - the top left one has broken thru! 3 teeth!!! The 4th one should be down anyday now.....

Now, for the title of the post.... I was giving Sam his dinner and when he finished I said "you want some puffs?" and he said "Poof"...... hmmmm..... coincidence???....... =)

You are Magic!

I found this today and figured I would post it for all the moms out there to see - being a mom is HARD WORK! I think back to before I had kids and always thought I would be the perfect mom - and all those things people told me about their kids - well, my kid would never do that, and I would be super mom! Fast forward to today and finally at 8 months I think I am super mom - lol! In those first few weeks though its about survival (quoting Gena ) - but we made it through and no one got hurt... well except that time Sam fell off the couch onto his head... but even then, he survived! =)

So, here is to mom's everywhere - YOU ARE MAGIC! We are all super moms!

.... now if only I can remember where I left my cape.....

TGIF!

I was sorting thru pics last night and came across this one of Zac and Sam (sam was about 2.5 months old) - its so funny! Zac is such a great big brother =)

Our Trip to Denver

A few weeks ago I had a conference in Denver so I packed up Sam (and my mom -lol) and headed out west! Sam was so good on the plane! He slept some and just checked out his surroundings. On the way home he LOVED the guy sitting next to us - the guy was very nice and played peek-a-boo with Sam and made funny faces. Sam would be relaxing in my arms and then sit up and look over at him... guess he was checking to see if he was still there!

As a bonus on the trip Sam was finally able to meet his Uncle Mike! We had dinner 2 nights that week and Sam loved it when Uncle Mike held him =)

One night we decided to let Sam taste a lemon..... hahahahah

Heading Home!

Now that Sam is a pro at flying we will be heading to Georgia in August to meet Taryn and Evan - the cutest little twins ever! Dont take my word for it - look below!

This is a really cool website - you enter words and it randomizes them - I did this one for Sam - click on the pic to see it full size

Way to go Sammy!

Last night Sam and I were sitting on the floor playing and and he has been leaning on my leg lately - well, last nigh, he leaned on my leg then proceeded to pull, and ended up on his knees, then he pulled again and was on his feet! I was so excited! Just to make sure it wasnt a fluke I put him back down and waited and sure enough he did it again! Way to go Sammy!!!
ok... so no pic of him standing so instead I posted a pic of his cute little feet =)

Infant CPR and First Aid

My friend Lynsi had suggested to me awhile back to take an infant CPR class , so when Sam's school offered one I jumped at the chance! The class was great! They taught us CPR and first aid for babies under 1 yr and then kids 1-8yrs old. We practiced on Baby Annie (doll obviously) and it made me feel so much more comfortable knowing exactly what to do if Sam ever stops breathing or is choking. I learned that to check the pulse in an adult you use the neck (carodid artery) but in babies you have to check the brachial artery which is in the upper arm - I had no clue! Also, new CPR "rules" tell you to do 30 compressions for every 2 breaths for ALL ages - the old rule varied from 5-12 compressions depending on age. We even practiced simple first aid techniques which was a nice refresher.

So, if you havent already taken a class I highly suggest it!

Welcome!

I figured I would try out this whole blogging thing to keep family and friends up to date on our lives. Sam is growing like a weed - 8 months already! Zac is playing baseball again this year and will be 16 in July- WOW! Josh is playing football again and becomes a teenager in June - they are all growing up so fast! Mark is enjoying his new job at Cobham as a Program Manager and I am still with L-3 as an environmental analyst.
Sam is loving the girls these days as you can see below - LOL

Well that is all for my first post! I will try to update weekly or as things occur-

Love to all!
