Paybacks

Before I had kids, heck before I was even married I was at a friends house and her toddler was pulling out tissues one by one and I thought - oh she likes that!  Rather than tell her no and take the box away I gave her the box and smiled and laughed as she pulled out every single tissue - then my friend came in..... she was not amused!!!  hahahahahah  oops!

Well, today Hannah was being quiet and I found her with a box of tissues....pulling them all out......paybacks?

Hannah starts daycare

Hannah started at the Malvern School today - I was prepared for the worst but she did awesome!
I dropped her off and said goodbye and ate her breakfast as she watched me leave - not one tear.....
I didnt cry either - haha - nor did I call that day to check on her.... how weird is that!  I cried and cried when I dropped off Sam at his first day of daycare and then called like 5 times to check on him.... things do change with baby #2!
When I picked her up they said she had a great day!  They took pics for me below:

At nap time she laid down on her mat and went right to sleep - I am sure she was exhausted!
She ate all her lunch and snacks too!
When we got home I had to fight to keep her awake until 6pm  - then I took her upstairs, she signed for sleep an pointed to her crib - I didnt even rock her - I put her in and she went right to sleep!

Day 2
Ok so I guess day 1 went too well.... today she cried when I left - broke my heart. I stood by the door listening and boy was she upset - What could I do?  If I went back in it would only make things worse - so I left an cried in my car.......
I called at 7:45 and they said Miss Damaris was holding her and she wasnt crying but she was a little upset and did not eat breakfast... ugh
I called again at 10am - she finally ate her breakfast at snack time and was doing well.
I called AGAIN at 1pm - lol - she ate all her lunch and once again wen right to sleep!
When we got home once again she was tired but I kept her busy and got some dinner in her then after a nice bath off to bed she went.

Day 3
Hannah's cold has gotten worse so her sleep has gone to crap and she woke at 530am today - how in the world will she stay awake until 1pm???

She got fussy at 1030, which is her normal naptime and she fell asleep at 1230 - they knew she didnt sleep well the night before so put her down early.  She naps so well on her nap mat - just lays down and goes to sleep!

New Orleans

I had a conference to attend in New Orleans and decided to make it easy on Mark – I left him home with Sam and I took Hannah with me (my mom came along to watch her during the day). We flew out on a Sunday and had a layover in Atlanta – Hannah did really well until we were about to land in Atlanta – I think btwn the pressure in her ears and being tired it all came crashing down…..

Once in Atlanta though she fell asleep and didn’t wake up until we were taking off again

We arrived in NO and found our luggage and a cab – we were staying in the French Quarter right on Canal Street – we were on the 37th floor with a view of the Mississippi

 – I can now easily see why NO flooded so easily – the water is high even during a dry time.  We walked around on Sunday and found a quick bite to eat – some good ole Louisiana Fried Chicken…. Aka, Popeyes!  Hahaha    I was tired and didn’t think Hannah would last thru a meal so we got food and took it back to the hotel.

The week went well – bedtime was a little tricky for Hannah the first few nights but naps were good – she slept while mom walked thru the city each day or just hung out in the stroller

The weather was HOT and HUMID!

We had yummy beignets from Café du Monde

Muffelatta from the Corner Grocer

Lamb and steak from Brennans
And Red beans and rice and Jambalaya from a little café

And for dessert……

PINKBERRY!!!  Yum!  I have always wanted to try this stuff (frozen yogurt) so we got some and enjoyed it outside.  One night we even had it for dinner! lol

Mom said Hannah was really good all week – she loved walking around and checking things out =)

Being silly with mommy

When we were walking back to the room one night a float went by and one guy threw Hannah some beads!  Hahaha  She loved them!

…oh yeah and the conference went well too…..

p.s.  my mom took 1000 pictures during the week - haha - it was hard to just pick a few!

Craft Time

One thing I love about the internet and blogs is all the cool projects you can find out there!  Recently we tried 2 of them.

Fizz

Cover the bottom of a baking pan with baking soda – put white vinegar in little cups and use food coloring to dye each one – then using a dropper put the vinegar in the baking soda and watch it fizz!
Sam loved doing this!

When it was all over the baking soda turned into this gloppy stuff and then Sam had fun playing with that too – 2 projects in 1 =)

Expanding Soap

Take half a bar of Ivory Soap and place it on a plate – put in microwave for 60 seconds – watch it get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger…….  Very cool and very quick project - we did it 4 times.  Then we took the expanded soap and put in a silicon mold to use later -

Both of these projects are pretty quick but great when you need a quick distraction!

Happy Mothers Day

I woke up this morning with a yummy breakfast in bed – although with 2 toddlers I thought it best not to drink hot coffee in bed! ha!  So we headed downstairs =)
yummy.... all gone!

We had a wonderful day at home – cooked out, played outside, washed cars and just enjoyed the beautiful weather.

sam insisted on doing his foot

My Mother’s Day gift rocked this year – TOMS!

Oh how I love these shoes!!!!

Being a mother is full of craziness in my house – I have a very energetic 3.5 yr old and a 14 month old toddler who wants to chase her brother. So it’s never a dull day.  I am blessed to have these two little munchkins call me mom  ♥

yes this was the best picture I could get!
