While reading a dinosaur book
S: What does this dinosaur eat?
Me: Hmmmm... lets see, oh he eats vegetables!
S: Mushrooms are a vegetable
Me: yep
S: Carrots are a vegetable.....Roccoli is a vegetable, its like little trees
Me: Yes they are - Hannah loves broccoli
S: I like muffins!

The next day while reading the same book
S: Does this dinosaur eat vegetables?
Me: yep!
S: Oh, peas are a vegetable. Maybe I will try peas, mommy
Me: That would be great!
S: He (points to the dino) likes roccoli
Me: Sam, its Broccoli, with a B, BROC-coli
S: no, you must be mistaken, its Roccoli

In the playroom
S: Oh mommy look at this special block
Me: Oh that’s nice
S: Its blue with some green in there... that’s an observation
Me: Oh observation...thats a big word..did you learn that at school?
S: No, I learned it in the playroom just now
