Art lessons

Sam is always asking me to draw things for him and I have not one lick of art in my finger! I usually tell him to ask Daddy because he can draw!

Sam: Mommy can you draw me something?
Me: No honey - I don't know how - lets wait until daddy gets home
Sam: But you know how to draw a boat!
Me: Yes, I do - I can draw a boat
Sam: Mommy you just need practice!
Me: Yes I do!
Sam: Here I will give you a lesson!

sam leaves and then comes back

Sam:  Here draw this

Sam leaves again
Sam: Here are the directions:

I draw

Me: How does that look?
Sam: You did the hat wrong
Try this

sam is top mine is bottom
Me: Here you go!
Sam: ugh! Your triangle is too big!
Try this bear.
Me: Umm that looks super tricky
Sam: I traced it - its easy - you try

sam is left mine is right
Sam: Oh! Yours looks better than mine!
Me: Whats next?
Sam: A lawnmower

Sam on top mine on bottom
Sam: Nice try mommy - see  you can draw!

Sam on top mine on bottom
Me: Like this one?
Sam: that looks ok.  The last one is an angry bird!
Me: Ok let me try

Sam on top mine on bottom
Me: How does it look?
Sam: eh
Me: eh? What does that mean?
Sam: I will just wait for daddy....
Me: good idea!

Fun

Sam and Hannah have been getting along really well these days - of course they still have their moments but I just love when they hang out and do stuff together!

We have also been recycling boxes - we made a rocket ship last week and this week we made a dragon!

Sam wanted to play with the slip and slide today so we pulled that out.

Then the kids found a butterfly

His wings were broke so he couldn't fly - Hannah was intrigued but refused to hold it

Furlough Friday

It was a busy day for me!
I got the kids off to school and worked on my list!
- shampoo living room carpet
- change bed sheets
- do laundry
- vacuum
- go to post office
- go to laundry mat
- Target
- Dollar store
- Gym

I was doing great until Malvern called - Sam had a fever!  Crap!  Luckily it was a happy fever and he was glad to be out of school and willing to run errands with me!

He fell asleep around 5pm and I put him in bed for the night!

As a side note - when was the last time you went to a laundry mat?  I had to wash Piper's bed and it gets all wonky in our washer so I took it to the laundry mat and brought $2 with me - boy was I shocked when I got there - it was $5 for ONE load!!!! Holy smokes!

Paleontologists

During our last storm some branches showed up in the creek and Sam wanted to keep this one.  He pretended like it was a dinosaur fossil and they painted it.

Then wanted his face painted too!

Its Hot!!!

Thank God for neighbor's with pools!

Sam and I were there for 4 hours on Saturday - Hannah and Mark came for about an hour.

New PJ's

Last winter Sam was constantly asking for footed pjs like Hannah wore but I didn't think they made them in his size.  I was at Carter's checking out their clearance stuff and found some - last pair, on sale,  and in his size - score!  I also found some for Hannah from CP.

Furlough Friday

Thanks to our !&@^#( Congress , Mark and I have been furloughed for the next 11 weeks.  Which means fridays off!
We chose to keep in the kids in school so we can get things done around the house that have been slacking.

Today I accomplished:
Laundry
Vacuum
Reorganizing the medicine cabinet
Recovered the kitchen stools with oilcloth (its wipeable!)
Got rid of 2 bags of crap!
Hair cut
Gym
Cleaned and organized playroom
Attended Hannah's play.

Next week: Paint the guest room!
