Random Thoughts

All the things I have been meaning to say but forgot!

* Sam loves math - he is always telling me that 2 + 3 =5 or 4+4 = 8. He also likes to count by 2’s.

* Hannah loves Choo-choo soul – she has zero interest in TV but when Choo choo soul comes on she runs into the room to watch (it’s a short program, maybe 3-4 mins long where a girl sings a song). Choo-Choo!!!

* Sam likes to do experiments – our latest was put some milk in a bowl – add a small chip – does it float or sink? Floats! Add some yogurt to make the chip sink – yep, that worked! Add some sprinkles – do they sink or float? Sink! Now let’s mix it all up and have a test – what does it taste like? A little salty but good!

* Hannah is a hoarder. She likes to pick up 5-10 objects and just carry them around, aimlessly –her latest collection? Sam’s underwear!

* Sam is very particular about his coloring - he will ask you to color with him but if you color the tiger purple and blue (what? I like those colors!) watch out! He will yell at you for doing it wrong! No mommy! That’s wrong! Tigers are black and orange!

* Hannah has entered the terrible 2’s. Sam started at 18 months so I guess we got lucky with Hannah – but boy can she throw a good tantrum!

* Sam loves for me to record him on video singing songs or doing experiments and then he wants to watch them – one of these days I will post some!

* Hannah is liking the bath again – not sure I ever posted about that one but one day she freaked out in the tub – we do baths every other day in the winter and I just washed her really quick while she screamed bloody murder. Sam and I would entice her with bubbles which she loved from OUTSIDE the tub but once in, no go! We kept on trying and exactly 3 weeks later I put her in a tub full of bubbles and held on to her waist. It was quiet and Sam said “mommy! She isn't crying!” Hallelujah!

* Zac moved out right after Christmas so the house has been extra quiet. For a few weeks Sam kept asking when Zac would be home from work – I don’t think he understood that he moved out…for good. He is enjoying his new found freedom and his 2nd year at Penn State!
