Reason 238 on Why we have to keep the laundry room door locked

Sam was “missing”. Which was fine, it happens all the time. I mean, he is in the house….somewhere….  He can open every single door in the house and unlock them so we had to resort to putting unreachable locks on the front door and laundry room door (which leads to the garage).   After about 20 mins I thought hmmm wonder where he is – then I noticed the laundry room door was open…oh crap!.... the I saw the door to the garage was open….grrrr….. there I find Sam in the drivers seat, wearing his Thomas sunglasses with a huge mouthful of gum – he looks at me and smiles “Mommy! I found my glasses and some gum!”  Good grief!  I explain to Sam he cannot go into the garage by himself  and then I lock the door…. Way up high so he cant reach…..

Best Friends Take 2!

I asked Sam how his day was and who he played with at school –

Sam: Sam C. – he’s my best friend
Me: I thought Bobby was your best friend?
Sam: Mommy, you can only have ONE best friend
Me: Ohhhh……

Sorry Bobby, you have just been voted off the playground!

Liar Liar Pants on Fire

The latest thing in the Life of Toddler…lying!  Yes, I know its normal and that all toddlers do this but it still drives me crazy! Sam has chocolate on his face.....

Me: Sam, did you eat chocolate?
Sam: No, I didn’t eat chocolate
Me: Then whats on your face?
Sam: I don’t know – wipes his face
Me: Tell me the truth, did you eat chocolate?
Sam:  smiling  nope!
Me: Sam, you need to be honest, did you eat you chocolate?
Sam: Finally shakes his head yes
Me: Ok, thank you for telling me the truth.  You need to ask before you get candy, ok?
Sam: Ok Mommy 

So this is how our dialogue goes now…. In hopes that one day he will tell me the truth the first time…

I made Sam some glasses with pipe cleaners - he thought they were so funny...so did Hannah!

Mulch Time

Sam loves helping daddy - even better is doing the same exact thing as daddy!  So when the mulch arrived Sam quickly ran and got his wheel barrow so he could help!



Easy way to update sidelights

I found this idea thru a linky party on a blog I follow - the girl used clear contact paper to give her windows a new look and I loved it!  The sidelights in our front door are streaky so I have always hated them - this was the perfect solution!  I used my Silhouette to cut out a design and then I transferred it to the window - it was so easy and the results are amazing - the pics dont do it justice - it looks like they are etched glass - doesnt look anything like contact paper - this costs me like 50 cents to do!

Our grass is green

We had a great weekend – the weather was gorgeous – we had some friends in town from VA – had some delicious food – just one of those nice weekends!  Sunday night when everyone was gone and the kids were in bed Mark walked into the kitchen and gave me a kiss and said “Our life is pretty awesome, huh?”  I couldn’t agree more…. Whoever said “The grass is greener on the other side” is missing out….. our grass is pretty green right where we are ♥

Friendship

I had some friends up this weekend to visit and take Hannah's 1yr birthday pictures - I met Heather my freshman year in college and we instantly clicked and became friends - then I met her twin sister who went to Emory & Henry when we were down there for a weekend.  We made some great memories over those 4 years..... 123!  123! 123!  haha, inside joke with Heather ;')

Anyway, they brought their 2 girls with them who are sadly all grown up now.... makes me feel OLD I tell ya! I remember when those beauties were born and now they are taller than me! lol

Sam LOVED Chloe - she was go good with him and if it were up to Sam she would have stayed while her mom went back to Roanoke!

While they were here they cooked for me -now thats a REAL friend!  =)  Then we all sat down and had a yummy dinner!

The weekend was great - we had beautiful weather, got to visit a little bit and got some pictures.  I love friendships like ours - we havent seen each other since Sam was 4 weeks old but it felt like I had just seen them yesterday - I love that about us.

In honor of St Patricks day I made GREEN pancakes

Sam loved it - he knew it had spinach in it but he was fine with that - he likes watching Popeye and knows that we need our spinach to be strong =)

In preparation for Hannah's birthday party we did a little photo shoot and while we got some cute one we got some funny ones too!  Hannah wasnt too thrilled about her cake!

Sam loves to paint! He would do it everyday if I let him - Hannah happily chewed on a paint dish while Sam painted =)



Long Night

Something was in the air last night or maybe that was the problem… all the fresh air we got…. Hannah was up 2 times, Sam was up 3 times and Piper threw up 2 times…. Good grief…. To say I am exhausted today is an understatement!

Thats why I needed this:

Best Friends

When Sam got in the car today I asked him how his day was

Sam: It was great – I made a new friend mommy!
Me: That’s awesome! Whats his name?
Sam: Bobby. He’s my  best friend!
Me: What did you and Bobby do?
Sam: We ran around and played castle and chased each other!
Me: Sounds like fun!

Now I must admit – haha – that the next day I went to his classroom and searched all the cubbies for a kid named “Bobby” and happily found one…. In the back of my mind I was thinking “imaginary friend”   lol…. But alas there was a boy named Bobby…. Here’s to best friends!

Two days later I asked him how Bobby was - his reply?  "He's not my friend!"  I told Mark that Sam and Bobby broke up - hahahaha

But I am happy to report the next time he saw Bobby they were BFF's again!  ha!

Growing grass

Sam and I planted some grass today..... he had fun.... I cant tell you what its for just yet though.... wait and see =)
