Earth Day!

Its Earth Day! The older kids at school planted a tree today - Sam's class ate earth shaped rice-krispy treats =) I saw these in a blog:
Easy right? Umm.... yeah... mine looked exactly like that.....sorta like that..... nothing like that. I could NOT get them to be shaped like balls - they were soooo sticky!! Anyway, so the kids ate blue and green blobs - the kids didnt care - actually the teachers didnt care either =)

I found this super cute shirt for Sam at Target for $2!!!! yes! It looked so cute on him!

In honor of earth day and conservation I decided to NOT wash dishes tonight.... you know... to save water ;-)

Update! Update!

My 16 year old niece just told me I was a cool aunt too! woo-hoo!!!!

All About Sam!

If I havent mentioned it before I love Sam's school - Goddard. His teachers are the best and they are always doing fun projects! When I picked him up today Miss Jen gave me this - I almost cried - its awesome!! I wrote the wording under each picture....

I am special, as special as can be.

No one in the world is just like me!

There are two little eyes to open and close.

There are two little ears and one little nose.

There are two little lips and a tounge shut in.

There are two little cheeks and one little chin.

There are two little arms and elbows neat.

There are two little shoes on two little feet.

There are two little shoulders stout and strong.

There are two little hands busy all day long.

This is my hand,

My hand will do

A thousand loving things for you.

And you will remember

When I am tall

That once my hand

Was just this small.

What I like to do at Schoool! Pretend to fix things with tools!

Push the cars and trucks around. Read books.

Foods I like to eat at lunch - I love this pic of Sammy - it was Midieval day and they had crackers with jam and he has jam on his face - too cute!

Its just hair.....it will grow back.... right????

Mark has been bugging me to cut Sam's hair - ever since his first haircut in October I have been trimming it myself since they cut it sooo short! The sides were starting to "wing out" see picture below:

We were waiting for a girl at the shopping center that I sold a diaper bag to from CL - while waiting Sam found this shopping cart - he was in love! LOL

So I decided I better let a professional do it. I was VERY specific and told the guy that I like his hair exactly how it is and only want it cleaned up so it lays flat - the guy imediately starts cutting and the hair is falling out - I was freakin out!!! At this point it was too late to stop him - so I just hoped it would look ok in the end. Well it didnt. He said he didnt want to cut him in case he wiggled so he didnt really finish - look at this after shot - notice the circles where you can see the awful job he did - I had to trim it once I got home - and he layered his hair - OMG!
Its awful!! His hair grows fast thank goodness so hopefully it wont be so bad 2 weeks from now. And next time I will trim it myself- I couldnt make it any worse than this guy!!!

Its official! I am cool!

This weekend I was out numbered big time! Seven boys and 1 girl! Josh had a friend from West Chester down (Justin) then Billy and Sean were over – add in Zac, Josh, Mark and Sam and well…… there I was…..

Saturday night I was in the kitchen making cookies for the kids and Zac, Billy, and Sean were in there – Billy was telling me about his girlfriend and all the drama there (I won’t go into details- ha-ha) Zac was talking about his girlfriend and prom and such – anyway Billy chimes in to say “You’re cool Gina” and Zac adds “yeah, she’s a cool stepmom”

YES! I AM A COOL STEPMOM!!! Woo-hooo!!!!!!

Now if only one day Sam thinks I am a cool mom…… that would be pretty awesome =)

Sports!

Both boys had games this weekend and Mark took some pics - I rarely have pics of the older boys so I figured I better post them when I get them =) First up is Zac - they had a 100 ining game on Saturday - not sure how many Zac actually played - here are some of a his pics:

Then we have Josh who is playing flag football again this year - he had a great game on Saturday - here are some of his pics:

Bunnies!

There is always a rabbit running in the yard and about 2 weekends ago when we were doing mulch I asked mark to clean out the leaves inside the bush - he reached then stopped and pulled his hand away quickly -he said - I think there is something alive in there - so he used a stick and covered it back up and we let it be - he thought it might be bunnies. Saturday we could see the sticks and stuff moving around - how exciting! Today either the mom or the bunnies moved the nest away (maybe to get some air?) and we could easily see them - there were 3 all snuggled close

Around 6:30 tonight I saw one of the bunnies under a different bush and I was worried he got lost - mark had gloves on so he figured he could safely move the bunny back to the nest - see how adorable!!!!!

He placed him close by the nest but he ran past it and under the tree - then another bunny came out - I guess they are old enough now to come out on their own? I havent seen the mom in a few days though - What on earth do bunnies eat? I put some chopped carrots out just in case - I worry about this stupid cat across the street getting them...... hopefully they will be just fine =)

Update at 9pm sunday - the mom is back! yay! Looks like she covered the babies back up and brought some new nesting material =)
