My dear friends Casey and Tammy (who also happen to be sisters) threw me a beautiful baby sprinkle - they found the cutest owl designs for decorations which I also plan to frame and put in the baby's room =) Here are a few pictures - Sam loved helping me open gifts and even got a few new things of his own!
Thanks so much for such a wonderful time! Love you both!

Snow.... take 2!
As expected we got a ton of snow last night - before bed it looked like a blizzard with the heavy snow and wind outside - we ended up with 16 total inches btwn yesterday and today.
Sam and I headed outside for some fresh air and to make a nice path for piper - she was having some trouble getting thru the snow and finding a place to potty - I am such a nice dog mom =)

Snow!
When I woke up this morning I walked into the bathroom to take a shower and saw this:
Your probably wondering what that is.... its the skylight in the bathroom and its covered in snow!!! The snow wasnt suppose to start untl later in the morning. I look outside and its snowing hard and we already have a good inch on the ground. I decide to stay home and make it a snow day!
Of course a snow day wouldnt be complete without some yummy snow cream!
The snow continued until noon -got a good 4 inches on the ground. Around 4pm it started to sleet - ugh! Three hours of sleet and its back to snow again - its 10pm now and we have another 4-5 inches already - Mark is snow blowing at the moment - haha - probably making some of the neighbors mad....
I imagine we will have another snow day tomorrow!
It sure is pretty though!

Christmas, Take 2!
Every year my Dad and step-mom (Sandy) head to Florida for Christmas so we get together in January for our Christmas. This weekend we headed to MD to see everyone. Sam loved seeing all his cousins and opening some new toys.
I made this since they always ask for pictures of the grandkids - they can easily change out the pics too
Then we tried to get a "cousins" shot - this was my best one - maybe Dad or Michelle has a better one though.... ugh, and my stupid camera has a fog spot on kevin.....grrrr

Snow day!
We got more snow so Sam and I stayed in and had a snow day (and pj day) !
Amanda came over and while her and Zac ran out Sam found her bag in the hallway.... I was in the living room and I hear Sam saying "awwww, awwww" .... So I get up and find this:
Too cute! He snagged "beary" from Amanda's bag and proceeded to carry it around with him.
One of Sam's new things is to run upstairs saying he has to check his email....LOL.... yesterday he took Beary with him:

How do you get anything done with a toddler around?
This question was posted by a mom on one of the boards I check out - the mom got lots of great repsonses but this one took the cake! Its hilarious but actually excellent advice as most of us want to be super mom but we also know its not going to happen!
Here is her reply:

I have 4 kids, ages 7 weeks, 2.5 years, 4 years and 6 years old. My middle two are 17 months apart.
My advice goes something like this:
With kid #1: Lower your standards. The floor doesn't need to be swept and mopped every day. Walls can be done once a week while Jr is sleeping. Mirrors and windows don't have to be totally streak free. Bathrooms only need to be done well once a week. Counters and fixtures don't have to sparkle. Meals don't have to be 3 courses cooked from scratch.
With kid #2: Lower your standards. The floors and walls can be spot washed. Mirrors can be done as you need to. Windows only really need it once a month or so. Bathrooms can be done really well every month, with a quick clean every week. Counters and fixtures can just be whiped ocassionally with the dish cloth. Crock pots are great!
With kid #3: Lower your standards. Wipe stuff of the floor once you start sticking to it. Wipe the handprints and anything really dark off the walls. Don't worry about the penut butter and other food, the dog will get that eventually. Do the mirrors and the bathrooms when you know company is coming, but wipe the kid's pee off the toilet seat and around the toilet area with toilet paper every time you go to the bathroom. Counters are covered with stuff anyway, but you can wipe around it occasionally. Wipe the fixtures when they start growing mould and/or cobwebs. Kraft Dinner is a viable option for every meal, just add sliced hotdogs or a few carrots for variety and a glass of milk.
With kid #4: Lower your standards. Start wearing shoes in the house. Decide to paint the walls when the kids are older. Mirrors don't need to be cleaned because you don't want to see what you look like anyway. Make sure the tape on the window Jr. broke with the baseball is still holding. Clean the pee off the toilet, walls and floor of the bathroom when it starts to smell. Choose one bathroom for yourself, clean it once a month and keep the door locked from the rest of your family. You can't see the counters, so why bother cleaning them? Fixtures can be replaced when the kids get older and most of them are broken anyway. Cheerios is a viable option for every meal.

Weekend Happenings
We woke up Friday to more snow on the ground - another 3 inches on top of the snow from a few days ago. Getting to work was a pain but it tapered off by noon. When we woke up on Saturday it was snowing again!! I couldnt believe it - we ended up with another 3 inches but luckily the roads stayed clear =)
Sam and I did some play-doh (of course!) and he made lots of 8's and then shaped them into a moon - I was so proud of him!
Later we headed outside for some fun in the snow! Got some cute pics of the boys too!
Sam took off his gloves so he could hold the rake better .....
..... and then he fell into it - we walked to the house to wipe off his hands and they were trembling from the cold so we decided to go inside..... Sam was NOT happy about that! Huge tantrum! It took me, Zac and Mark to get his snow suit off while he screamed.... oh the toddler years =)
Sunday was a quiet day at home - it was really windy and cold so we stayed inside most of the day.... back to work tomorrow!

Building a bedroom
The week between Christmas and New Year's I had to work and Mark was going to build a bedroom in the basement for Zac so my mom came up to help out with Sam - boy did he have a fun week with his grandma! Sam of course had to help Daddy some too - he loves tools! Here are a bunch of pictures for your viewing pleasure.....
The first 2 pics are the before - Mark lucked out and only had to make one long wall and then the door on the other wall-

Then he framed everything out and got started!
Oh and I must add that Sam picked out his clothes on this day..... hahaha |
Two walls were painted in "Penn State blue" - now we just need to clean up and bring the bed down =)
Great job honey!!
