Sam's 6th Birthday Party

I took Sam bowling this summer and saw that they had birthday parties so I convinced Sam that we should have his party there!

He is really into Star Wars so that was the theme and I found some great printables on the PBK blog.

I made the cake - Sam loved it and thought it was so cool!

Happy 6th Birthday Sam!

This was a hard birthday for me.

Maybe its because he started Kindergarten or maybe just because he is 6 but he seems so grown up!

I bought him a really sweet book about how my love will always find you

Sam: Ugh Mommy, I hate that book. Its all about love

Me: So what?

Sam: love, love, love, Oh I'm so girly, I love love!

Me: Aww I love this book

Sam: mommy, just give it to Hannah

then he takes the book and puts it in Hannah's room.

(for the record Hannah loves the book!)

I love to decorate the house for their birthday!

We got Sam a jr size Basketball hoop - he loved it

Poor Hannah, she was so sad that she didn't get any presents and that her room 

wasn't decorated

Sam's answer to everything: Oh just get it on Amazon - they have everything!!

Me: Today is our anniversary - Daddy and i have been married for 9 years

Sam: Oh geez so now your gonna find a new husband?

Me: Ummm, no

Sam: Oh good, cuz your stressing me out!

The other hot gift was his bow and arrow - its foam so nothing dangerous - but super fun!

Me: School is closed tomorrow for Rosh Hashana

Sam: Whatever, I don't even speak Spanish!

Sam requested a trifle instead of cake

Mommy is on vacation!

As usual, we head to Myrtle Beach every September, but this year I decided to leave the kids at home with Mark - the kids thought I was going on a work trip.

Yes kids, when you read this 20 years from now you will be mad but believe me, sometimes Mommy needs a break ;)

So me and Mom went down and had a great time!

Every morning when I woke up my mom had the coffee waiting for me - yeah, it was pretty awesome! Thanks mom!

And the books I read.  I don't think I have read that many books since I became a mom!

Mom and I both missed having the kids there but it was also nice to sleep in, sit and relax on the beach, and do whatever we wanted.

It was a great vacation!

While I was gone Mark took the kids to see The Ferrell's!

He took all the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese and this machine was broke - every time Sam hit the button tickets popped out - he got about 300 tickets!!

Sam lost his 1st tooth!!!

I was getting worried. It was loose but wasn't budging. I was leaving for the beach in a few days and really wanted it to happen before I left!

Finally Friday morning he came in my room and said "Mommy, it fell out! Come see!"

Whew! Crisis averted!

The tooth fairy left some sugarless gum, coins in the water and a tiny certificate.

As you can see the certificate says Sept 11 because I was SURE it would fall out that day - oh well, he didn't notice the date!
