Happy Easter!

We stayed home this year for Easter - I missed seeing everyone but it was so nice to just "be home".  

Sam wrote a note and left it in his basket

The kids woke up before 7, no surprise there....

I told Sam to check the toilet when he woke up to see if the Easter Bunny was here - I told him sometimes he uses our potty - ha!  And sure enough he did!

He also left out some bunny napkins

and a peep garden (sam's words)

The Easter Bunny hid their baskets but left some clues

 

At first Sam didn't see them

Then he found them!

As a side note:  After I put Hannah to bed last night I thought "Oh crap. She is wearing her Christmas pjs!  She will be wearing Christmas pjs searching for her Easter Basket!"  ugh.....   Then I put Sam to bed and you'll never guess what book he picked out?!  "Twas the Night Before Christmas"!   hahahaha

March - In like a lion...out like a lion

March is suppose to be in like a lion and out like a lamb .... not this year.  Its been a cold and snowy March!  Just when I think its done snowing... it snows again!

Visit from Grandma

My mom came up for the weekend and the kids loved seeing her!

Easter Eggs

It was time to color our Easter eggs!

Me: Tomorrow we can dye eggs

Sam: Die?  Why are the eggs going to die?

Me: No, not that die, dye means to color. We are going to color the eggs.

Sam: Then after we color them they are going to die?

...what is up with all this death talk?...

These below were my favorite - Sam color them with the rollers then he put them in the dye baths - 

I think they turned out so cool!

Best date night ever!

About 6 months ago we decided we really needed to start having date nights - I would love to do it once a week but man are sitters expensive - so we do it once a month.  We do something fun and then try a new restaurant.  This weekend was date night and since my mom decided to come up we cancelled the babysitter  grandma here = free babysitter!  Score!

Then we took it one step further.  We got a hotel for the night!  We were only 20 mins down the road but it was nice to escape!  We grabbed some dinner and then went to IKEA (oh how I love IKEA).  Then went back to the hotel and just hung out in the quiet room and of course we slept in =0)

best date ever!

Sam's half birthday

When I was growing up my BFF use to always talk about her half birthday - you know, the 6 month mark after your birthday.  I always thought it was weird but in my mind every April 12th I thought "today is my half birthday!"  haha

So I decided to celebrate Sam's.  I told him it was his half birthday and today he was officially 4.5 yrs old!!! He was so excited and asked if we could make a birthday cake!  I suggested cookies =)
