Sam update
Sam's new things:
- loves to take showers now
- loves chapstick and says "lips lips" when he sees me use it
- he is trying his hardest to jump! I read that btwn 2-3 is when they master this. I show him how I do it and he bends down and tries his hardest to but his feet wont leave the ground.... in time Sammy, in time =)
- his vocab continues to grow like crazy - its so fun when I hear a new word pop out of his mouth!
- he is super cute with piper. When we go outside he tells Piper "come piper" and waves his hand at her - he waits until she is outside before he closes the door - he does the same thing when we go inside. If Piper is off the deck he stands at the top and yells "piper come" and when she does and tells her "good girl". He loves to give her hugs. He loves to tug rope with her and laughs like crazy when he falls.
- he loves to be chased!
- he likes to scream LOUDLY for no apparent reason.....lol
Thats all I can remember at the moment will update again when I have more to share =)

Weekend Happenings
It was a HOT weekend! Yuck!!! We tried to stay inside when we could but that didnt happen much when you have a toddler that LOVES to be outside! Saturday Mark built Sam a picnic table. We usually eat dinner outside most nights and Sam sits on the deck floor but now he has a table =) He can sit and get up all by himself too!
He had a snack outside
And then dinner.... I am telling you he LOVES this table!!!
Sunday we went to Dorney Park for Mark's work picnic. Sam did really well! We stayed from 10-2 and the boys stayed a little longer. Sam had his first Carousel ride - he liked it at first but I think we got the defunct horse - it shook when it hit the top and bottom and I think it scared him - I held him for most of the ride.
Josh carrying Sam
Sam had his first train ride too and his bigh brothers joined him =)
Here he is with daddy - thats the log flume in the back and I snuck Sam up to the "deck" so he would get wet when the ride came down - he was NOT happy about it......
Before we left we headed to the wave pool! Sam had to wear a life jacket and had a mini tantrum when I put it on but then Mark scooped him up and took him in deeper water and he was fine.
All the boys....
Zoomed in on shot above.... how sweet is this pic????
My uber talented friend Gena makes and sells beautiful custom wall letters and I thought I would give it a go.... yeah mine were crap! But in this picture they look pretty good....lol
My friend Allison also came in town to see me to see her family and we headed to Peddlers Village - it was a fun time and I have a pic but its on her camera..... so I will post it when I get it =)

Settled down...
Things are back to normal at our house - YAY!!! Sam's ear infection and strep are on the mend! Looks like the strep and rash were scarlett fever and after 48 hours the antibiotics finally pushed out the fever and the rash is almost totally gone - whew! Sam is at daycare today and mommy is at work =)
While home I had to find something fun for Sam - it was way to hot to be outside - I dont remember where I saw this idea but you fill a ziploc freezer bag with finger paint, get out all the air and use your finger to draw designs -
Sam wanted me to draw a sun:
and a dog :
and no laughing at my dog picture =)
I also made 2 wreaths for the front door - I used straw wreaths and greening pins and attached some greens from the front flower beds - turned out nice and when they die I can just pull them out and make a new one!

Tuesday
Sam woke up w/o a fever and he was acting ok so I packed him up and took him to daycare - he had a great morning and ate all his lunch and snacks but when he woke up (early) from his nap at 2:45 he had a fever - then at 3pm he starting throwing up.... poor sammy =( He also broke out in this weird rash - I called the ped and they said to give the amox another 24 hrs to work and then if he still has fevers to bring him in and they think the rash is viral (result of the fevers) - so we are waiting for now - say a get well prayer for him please

Weekend Happenings
It was a long and busy weekend - Friday morning Sam woke up with a low grade fever - I assumed it was teething as it didnt seem to bother him. So we headed to DC for JC's retirement from the Navy. It was at the Washington Nationals Stadium and afterwards everyone was staying for the game. As expected Sam sat still for the fist 5 mins then he wanted down!! I tried to keep him appeased in the back with cars and crayons but it didnt help - next thing you know he is crying out for daddy! So, Mark took him outside the room and ended up missing the whole ceremony :( Sam enjoyed running around afterwards and loved the baseball stadium - he looked so cute sitting in the stadium chair - the lighting was off so no pics - boo! At 7:30 when everyone went to watch the game we headed to moms for a sleepover.
Saturday Sam woke bright and early at 5:45!!! OMG....... Where is Gma when you need her??? =)
We had some breakfast then packed the car to head to my sisters. We hung out there until 11:30am then headed home - we hit traffic here and there and I was hoping Sam would sleep the entire way since he woke early but nope.... he woke after 90 mins crying - so I pulled over and gave him Motrin and he still cried alot of the way home - made for a VERY long car ride!!!
We get home and get some happy moments =) Here is Sam hanging with Piper
and in his new hat I got him for the fall - he looks so cool =)
Saturday night his fever shot up to 102 - he slept well though.
Sunday he had a fever all day long - as you can see in this picture both Sam and Piper weren't having a good day - hahahaha
Mark started to work on Sam's picnic table and boy was it hot! Even Piper retreated to her shade spot
Zac came over to spend the day with us and Mark cooked out ribs and steak - it was yummy!! I made some special Fathers Day Golf cupcakes too!
Is the weekend over yet????

When your toddler is being quiet..... go find him!!!!
Mark and I were in the kitchen chatting about our day and Sam was all 5 feet away by the bay window in the eat in kitchen area. He was playing with a small sippy brush and then we stopped "watching him". It had been about 10 mins and I said "what is Sam doing" so I look around the corner and OMG!!!! He used the brush and "carried" potting soil from my plant over to the window ledge - what a mess!!!
Even better .... when I was putting away his dishes that night I found 4 cups in the drawer FULL of dirt!!!! geez.......

Well... we got that out of the way!
I accidently gave Sam peanuts last night!
Good news is that he was fine =)
I like to eat dry cereal and I bought this stuff called Wheatabix - super yummy - anyway Sam pulled them out of the cabinet after work and asked for some so I let him eat them - he had about 6 of them - they are maybe 1"x1.5" - he left one so I took and bite and saw the peanuts!! I checked the ingredients and sure enough! Peanuts!!! Funny thing is that I checked the ingredients when he asked but I only looked for milk...... oh well - at least I got that out of the way =)

Relay for Life 2010 - Stomp out Cancer
Relay for Life begins when the sun is setting.
This symbolizes the time that the person has been diagnosed as having cancer.
The day is getting darker and this represents the cancer patient’s state of mind as they feel their life coming to an end.
As the evening goes on it gets colder and darker, just as the emotions of the cancer patient does.
Around 1am to 2am represents the time when the cancer patient starts treatment. They become exhausted, some sick, not wanting to go on, possibly wanting to give up. As a participant, you have been walking and feel much the same way. You are tired, want to sleep, maybe even want to go home, but you cannot stop or give up.
Around 4am to 5 am symbolizes the coming of the end of the treatment for the cancer patient. Once again they are tired, but they know they will make it.
The sun rising represents the end of treatment for the cancer patient. They see the light at the end of the tunnel and know that life will go on.
The morning light brings on a new full day of life and excitement for the new beginnings for the cancer patient.
As a participant, you will feel the brightness of the morning and know that the end of Relay is close at hand.
When you leave the Relay, think of the cancer patient leaving their last treatment. Just as you are exhausted and weak, so is that person after their treatment.
If you know a cancer survivor, this is their story.
They are your reason to relay and become our reason as well.
We had a great time at Relay this Year! The theme was “Stomp out Cancer” so we hung shoes from our campsite =) We also sold glow bracelets and lemonade and baked goods – our teams final donation came to over $1500 !!!! woo-hoo!!!
Here are a few more pics that we took thru the evening – and yes we did actually WALK! Haha I just happened to only take pics when we were sitting =)
A special thanks to those who gave me donations – I hope you know your money is going to an amazing cause!!!!

And then I snagged this picture of Sam in his new Huggies Jeans diapers - LOL
Donuts with Daddy!
Today Sam's school hosted Donuts with Daddy in honor of Fathers day. Sam loved having his daddy there and showing him around his classroom and play yard!
